What Does the Change in Seasons Mean For You?

In my Sacred Sons community we talk a lot about meeting our edges.
Tough conversations with people that I care about most definitely fall into that category.
This week was one of those stretches.
These were conversations that pushed me out of my comfort zone for sure.
I’m grateful for all the work I’ve put in the past few years. Therapy, self-healing, meditation, men’s work, physical movement, and a variety of ongoing learning via books and podcasts.
And while all of it has helped in some way, by no means is this journey over.
I’ll be learning lessons until I take my last breath.
And for that I’m grateful. I never want to be someone incapable of growth, regardless of what level I’m at (currently 53).
For me that means every day, regardless of where I am in life, looking for ways to improve myself, so that I can be a better partner, friend, son, sibling, etc.
Be it spiritual, health-wise, relationships, family or career, I know there’s always room for improvement.
It’s been a busy few weeks travel and work-wise. As such, these letters have been written and sent on Saturdays, rather than being prepared before-hand.
It’s more of a ‘what’s top of mind for me’ vibe.
It’s a quiet Saturday afternoon here in Minnesota. Temps have dropped to mid 30s, which is definitely an abrupt end to fall.
But is some ways, the change in seasons is a helpful reminder to slow down enough to appreciate the abundance of this year and reflect on what’s to come.
I realize there are incredible atrocities happening around the world at this very moment, and my prayers go out to all of those suffering. I pray that we can find our way through this.
